Activate curates, adapts, and creates evidence-informed, user-friendly resources using research-based methods for translating research to practice. We partner with youth-supporting professionals, young people, and researchers to translate research for professionals who support young people experiencing the child welfare and/or justice systems, homelessness, and/or disconnection from school and work (i.e., opportunity youth). Our resources help youth-supporting professionals apply research in their everyday work with young people. By using Activate’s research-backed resources—translated in a user-friendly, easily digestible manner—professionals can focus on encouraging young people to make healthy choices about their sexual and reproductive health.
Research Translation Methods
Activate’s approach to translating research includes the following steps:
*Tailored Resources: Resources for youth-supporting professionals who work in systems designed specifically to serve young people with specific experiences (e.g., child welfare professionals)
*Inclusive Resources: Resources for youth-supporting professionals who work in settings that serve all young people (e.g., educational and after-school programs)
